Dr. Wendy Green - Naturopathic Doctor & Midwife

     Dr. Wendy Green has been fascinated with the healthcare field since childhood.  Her memories are filled with doctoring friends, homemade crutches, and ace bandages.  After attending her first birth at the age of nineteen, Dr. Wendy discovered that Maternity Care and Pediatrics were her life’s fulfillment.  Dr. Wendy began her education at the University of California at Santa Cruz, she sought for a
means to practice medicine in a holistic way. She was pleased to learn that doctors of natural medicine did exist — Naturopathic Doctors.  She went on to graduate in 2002, with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular & Developmental biology.  Dr. Wendy then continued her education at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM), where she began her training in alternative medicine and midwifery.

     In 2005 she gave birth to her first daughter at home, which reaffirmed her passion for natural childbirth.  Shortly thereafter, Dr. Wendy began attending home 
and clinic births, mentoring with two remarkable Naturopathic Midwives in Portland, Oregon.  
 In 2006 Dr. Wendy graduated from NCNM with a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Obstetrics - specializing in Obstetrics, Midwifery and Pediatrics.  Shortly after graduating, Dr. Wendy practiced Midwifery and Naturopathic Medicine at Motherwise Community Birth Center in Bend, OR and The Natural Childbirth & Family Clinic in Portland, OR.  In the spring of 2009 she gave birth to her second daughter at home.  She is now enjoying her own practice, Kalista Wellness & Birth Sanctuary, serving Medford and surrounding areas.  Dr. Wendy Green is licensed in Naturopathic Medicine, Naturopathic Obstetrics and Midwifery in the state of Oregon.

Dr. Laura Galati - Naturopathic Doctor & Midwife

     Dr. Laura Galati is a Naturopathic Physician and Midwife, practicing in Medford and surrounding areas in Southern Oregon.  She graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine, where she received a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine & Naturopathic Obstetrics, as well as certification in Integrative Medicine.  Dr. Laura is a trained doula, a member of the Oregon Association of Naturopathic Physicians (OANP) and the Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA). 

Dr. Laura grew up in Phoenix, AZ and was instilled in the benefits of natural alternatives from an early age.  Her mother taught her to make her own soaps, shampoos and clothes, using eco- & body-friendly ingredients.  Dr. Laura's path in life has taken her from studying Aquatic Biology in Arizona, to the Peace Corp in the Philippines (where she found her passion for family planning & childbirth), to Hawaii & Alaska as a fisheries Biologist (go ahead, ask her about fish).  After all of these experiences, and a couple years of working on various farms around the country, Dr. Laura decided to settle down to help women give birth in a natural, peaceful setting.

Dr. Laura's goals include, helping families experience the joy of out-of-hospital births, prescribing natural holistic cures to families in need and discussing family planning with young parents-to-be.  She enjoys the beautiful outdoors, the agricultural bounties of the fertile valleys of Southern Oregon and, most importantly, the sun.

Jennifer Hook -
 Certified Doula (DONA), Birth Assistant & Childbirth Instructor

     Jennifer Hook was born with a desire to serve others.  After attending a friend's home birth in 1999, as a photographer and doula, she was inspired to pursue the support of women & their families in the magical time of childbirth.  She has since gained extensive experience in doula work, birth assisting and childbirth education.  She has attended a year long apprenticeship, completed DONA certification and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Human Biology.  In addition, her own birthing journey's have added to her wisdom and soothing ability in supporting women during pregnancy, birth and beyond.  

Jennifer is passionate about advocating and empowering others during this sacred time.  She believes in educating women and their partners, to raise self-awareness and deepen bonds in preparation for birthing.  Her childbirth classes take couples through an enlightening labor simulation, with hands-on techniques and tools for coping practices.  Emphasis is placed on the significance of the partner's role and enabling him/her with the skills and knowledge to enhance the birthing experience, thus creating lasting memories.
